The Path of the Cool Hero

“On the journey of the warrior-bodhisattva, the path goes down, not up, as if the mountain pointed toward the earth instead of the sky. Instead of transcending the suffering of all creatures, we move toward turbulence and doubt however we can. We explore the reality and unpredictability of insecurity and pain, and we try not to push it away. If it takes years, if it takes lifetimes, we let it be as it is. At our own pace, without speed or aggression, we move down and down and down. With us move millions of others, companions in awakening from fear.”

– Pema Chödrön, Comfortable with Uncertainty

  1. I’ve been facing the fears of my inner demons as I unbury the past through writings. Your post really touched my heart and meant so much. I’ve survived horrific abuse in my life, and the ‘warrior-bodhisattva’ is something I find much solace from.

Thank you for sharing and inspiring others with your words.
    Blessings, Joan

  2. Thank you, what a tremendous gift you have given me! Some of us suffer so much. It takes courage to face every day–we really need each other.

You deserve every kindness. Blessings, love and peace. -Lucie
